Electrically calcined anthracite coal or ECA coal is manufactured by heating high-grade anthracite coal to temperatures as high as 2000⁰C in a DC Electric Calciner obtaining a depolarized and semi-graphitized product. ECA has a higher carbon content and relatively higher thermal and electrical conductivity than conventional anthracite coal. Calcining is controlled to achieve a significantly lower Electrical Resistivity (E.R.- 650 µΩm), ranging from 550µΩm to 750µΩm depending on customer needs. Our ECA has low moisture, volatile and sulfur content. It can be used in the manufacture of prebake electrodes, Soderberg and tamping pastes, and carbon blocks and is an excellent smelting additive due to its high purity and consistency.
APPLICATION:
It is the main raw material for manufacturing carbon electrode paste and is also widely used in the Aluminium & Steel Industries.
